This one is personal.
I've been in financial services for over 40 years. I started in 1988 reconciling bonds at a small investment management firm in Pennsylvania. I ended up leading teams at some of the largest global institutions in the world. And somewhere in the middle, I watched the same problem show up over and over again, at firms of every size, with good people who were genuinely trying.
Two teams. Same client. No real reason to talk to each other.
It sounds simple. But the cost of that gap, in client relationships, in team morale, in who gets recognized and who gets blamed, is anything but.
I wrote about it this week in Forbes. It's called "The Culture Gap No One Talks About," and it's the problem I've spent the better part of my career trying to name clearly enough to fix.
If you lead a team, or sit between two teams that don't talk, I think you'll recognize something in it.

I'd love to know what you see in your own organization.
To your success,
